Both bamboo and cotton, and hemp are degradable, rapidly renewable resources. 2. Harvesting bamboo has minimal impact on the surrounding environment. A. Inherent insect-resistant properties eliminate the need for pesticides. B. Its vast root network diminishes the need for replanting using diesel- emitting equipment to plant seeds and till soil. 3. Bamboo may help improve soil quality and rebuild eroded soil. 4. Bamboo grows without any artificial irrigation, and has the unique ability to conserve water. 5. Bamboo Viscose’s ability to quickly absorb dyestuffs results in less water use in the dyeing process. The dyes for the bamboo rayon are GOTS compliant. 6. Organic cotton reduces the overall exposure to toxic chemicals from synthetic pesticides that pollute the ground, air, water, and food supply, and are associated with a range of health consequences. 7. Organic cotton offers an alternative to the problems related to conventional cotton, such as salinization (too much salt in soil), desertification (overexploitation of vegetations causing depletion of plant life), and poisoning of the environment and human health. 8. The organic cotton used for Chalet is GOTS compliant. For more information, please visit the website www.global-standard.org 9. Chalet is manufactured using 100% wind power. |
